About the Baker


Welcome to Snozzberry Pie! This blog, name inspired by the mysterious berry found on Willy Wonka's edible wallpaper in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, will highlight my most interesting cooking endeavors, from unusual sandwiches to birthday cakes. While I most greatly enjoy making dessert, I cook other things as well, and plan to chronicle an assortment of the results. I am a vegetarian (yes on the eggs and dairy, no to fish and poultry), so recipes will remain strictly in that category. I love receiving recipe suggestions and ideas, as long as they don't involve rib-eye steaks or the like.

I decided to start a blog because, since having graduated in spring 2012 from St. Olaf College, I find myself with a bit more free time to cook and write for fun, two activities I couldn't quite master during college. I call myself a baker because the origins of my interest in food are found in baking, even as my affinity has expanded into the areas of cooking and eating in general. I began baking around age fourteen, and since then the kitchen has filled with copies of Fine Cooking, several more cookbooks and, among other gadgets, a lovely zester.
